Integrations for ESRI ArcGIST Desktop and ArcIMST

The OnBase Integrations for ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcIMS provide users the capability to link OnBase documents to locations on maps stored in either the desktop or Web-based versions of ESRI's GIS applications. By defining virtual relationships between map feature attributes and OnBase document keywords, users can retrieve related OnBase documents without leaving the ESRI interface.

ArcGIS Desktop, a collection of software products that runs on standard desktop computers to create, import, edit, query, map, analyze, and publish geographic information, and ArcIMS, which delivers dynamic maps and GIS data and services via the Web, seamlessly integrate with OnBase for complete information on map objects.

Integration for ESRI ArcGIS Desktop

The Integration for ESRI ArcGIS Desktop provides an easy-to-use toolbar in the ArcGIS Desktop environment for query, point-and-click retrieval and archiving of OnBase documents related to map features. The integration gives ArcInfo, ArcEditor and ArcView users the ability to link OnBase documents to locations on maps stored in an ArcSDE Spatial Data Server.

Integration for ESRI ArcIMS

Users select the document(s) to be linked by highlighting a particular area or an object directly from the map in ArcIMS. After the link is established, any user who highlights the selected area on a map will obtain a listing of all documents previously assigned to the location. OnBase users can right-click on any document and view a list of all map locations in which it is referenced.

Application

The Integrations with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcIMS empowers users with rapid access to the information they need. For example, an insurance company may analyze risk rates by viewing the underlying documents linked to a traffic fatalities map to understand the causes of a high accident area. A Public Works Department efficiently retrieves CAD drawings, inspection documents and blueprints tied to area development projects. By having this information readily available, decisions can be made more quickly and processes become more efficient.

OnBase also offers an Integration for Azteca Cityworks ®, the only ESRI GIS-centric solution for public works and utility departments and asset management.
