Publishing

OnBase Publishing creates a self-contained, stand-alone OnBase system with a runtime executable. Once the executable is loaded on to any Windows-based PC, users can view documents on a computer that does not have OnBase installed. In this "mini" OnBase system, users can access many OnBase standard functions such as document retrieval, double-click cross-referencing, text searching, printing, custom queries and overlays.

Along with the CD/DVD Authoring  module, Publishing makes the standalone OnBase system transferable through either CD or DVD media. Aggregate Publishing allows users to import documents from multiple OnBase collections into a single published system.

Automated CD/DVD Publishing

With Automated CD/DVD Publishing, authorized users can define jobs in advance to produce the self-contained OnBase system to CD/DVD media automatically. Users schedule jobs to run automatically and OnBase transmits them to a Rimage or Condre Stylus publisher for media creation at the appropriate time.

Jobs can be routed to specific auto-publishing workstations and/or run at a certain time of day to better utilize system resources. Ensuring accuracy and success, Automated Publishing generates labels at the time of creation for each period of time as well as flags failed jobs and automatically tries them again.

Application

Organizations that share their documents via paper can significantly reduce or eliminate the costs and effort associated with printing and distribution. Documents are easily gathered and written in a format that allows other organizations to work with them electronically, providing a higher level of service to customers and partners. Automating the process eliminates manually locating and publishing the appropriate documents as well as makes Publishing a "lights-out" operation.

CD/DVD Publishing greatly simplifies processes that require significant documentation to be shared with customers or other business partners. For instance, invoices for national customer accounts are often supported by thousands of pages of signed receipts. Rather than shipping paper documents or manually identifying the correct electronic ones, Publishing allows this information to be collated automatically and sent to the customer in a convenient, searchable format.
