Export

OnBase Export is used for both transferring documents between disparate OnBase systems and as a complement to OnBase Publishing . It produces a user-defined collection of documents written to a network folder, which can then be transferred to another OnBase system or integrated with  CD/DVD Authoring to write to write once, read many (WORM) media.

Application

Export is an important module to organizations that share their documents across multiple locations running separate OnBase systems or with other organizations that may or may not be using OnBase. Users can group documents by unique keyword values such as a specific issue, date, job or customer name to more quickly assemble the correct documents.

For organizations with disparate systems, different sites can run separate OnBase systems and still be able to transfer information back and forth. For example, an organization receives monthly figures on a regular basis from multiple sites. Each location is running its own OnBase system and an Export is run from each site. The exported figures are sent to the main site where the data is imported into the centralized OnBase system for review.

In sharing with other organizations, such as customers, Export can reduce or eliminate the cost and effort associated with printing and distribution. At the same time, customer support is simplified and enhanced with personalized content. Documents are easily gathered and written in a format that allows the other organization to work with them electronically. When complemented by the Publishing module, these organizations are not required to have OnBase to research and work with the documents on their own workstations.
