Storage Integration for IBM Tivoli®

The Storage Integration for IBM Tivoli enables OnBase to store documents to an IBM Tivoli Storage Manager. Via an IBM application programming interface (API), OnBase copies committed and backup Disk Groups to the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager system for archiving, compliance, disaster recovery/backup and additional security. In fact, IBM has validated the Storage Integration for IBM Tivoli and has granted it "Ready for IBM Tivoli Software" status.

Administrators will find it easy to configure OnBase to use this integration with familiar Disk Group configuration screens. Deployment is even simpler with Distributed Tivoli Services, which is included with the module. It acts as a middle tier between OnBase clients and Tivoli, and it eliminates the need to install Tivoli client software on every client workstation. It can optionally encrypt network traffic between the OnBase clients and the Distributed Tivoli Service server.

Application

The solution can be configured to provide value for a variety of different OnBase customers. The media flexibility of a solution may interest organizations that currently back up other applications to an IBM Tivoli Storage Manager system for disaster recovery purposes. Archived files can be on almost any type of media and multiple copies of the files can be made for offsite storage. Files can even be migrated from one type of media to another.
